The first thing you need to do
is walk around inside and outside of your home to decide what
you will be moving and what will be staying behind or used for
a yard sale. Remember to go through any storage containers you
may have stuff in to determine what moves and what stays.
Your move estimator will walk you
through your home, looking at all rooms, closets, attics and
basements if necessary. For an interstate move the cost will
depend on how much and the type of packing, the weight of your
shipment, where you are moving to and any other special moving
services needed.
What
documents are used and what is their purpose ?
Estimate/Order for Service:
The salesperson uses this document to figure out the packing,
the items to be moved and items not moving, special moving services
needed, pricing and valuation and dates for pickup and delivery.
This document is signed by both parties, customer and salesperson.
However, it does not mean you are moving with Deerfield until
you, the customer, let us know. After you tell us the move is
a go -
We then produce a ....
Bill of Lading:
This is the transporting document.
On the day of the pickup...
Inventory: This
is the inventory (list) of all items to be shipped/moved. Our
movers tag each item with a unique control # and is color-coded.
